School Uniform
The information below outlines the school uniform expectations for pupils at Ysgol Maes Hyfryd, as set out in the school prospectus. In practice, the school recognises the individual needs of our pupils and will work with families where appropriate to support comfort, wellbeing, and inclusion.
Years 7-11
The wearing of uniform in years 7 -11 is compulsory.
The uniform consists of:
Dark grey/black skirt or trousers
Marl grey polo shirt with school logo
Dark purple sweat shirt/ cardigan with school logo
Black shoes or trainers
Dark outer coat
Years 12-14
The wearing of school uniform is not compulsory, however 6th form pupils will be asked to maintain a tidy and smart appearance at all times.
A 6th form grey sweat shirt & a purple polo shirt with the school logo is available, if desired, but it is not compulsory.
The wearing of the following will not be allowed:-
Worn out jeans/ jazzy shorts
Low cut / cropped tops
Bright flashy colours
Logo emblazoned tops.
PE Uniform
PE clothing and footwear is essential for all pupil to participate in physical
Boys:
Plain black shorts
Plain black jogging pants
White t-shirt with logo
Trainers / Football boots
Girls:
Plain black shorts/ skort( skirt with built in shorts
Plain black jogging pants
White polo shirt/t shirt with logo
Trainers/ football boots
P.E. is compulsory for all pupils unless they are excused for medical reasons. A letter to the class teacher is needed to excuse your child from taking part in PE.
Keeping fit and healthy is important for all our pupils and there is a full and varied calendar of events throughout the year including: - hoola hooping, boccia, basketball, cheerleading, football, gymnastics etc to motivate the pupils.
